If You Want to Build Muscles, Don’t Eat These 3 Foods

Despite the fact that many people try, not everyone is able to build muscles. For example, certain groups of people like obese or disabled singles will obviously have problems achieving that, but there are also others who don’t have these obstacles, but rather halt their own progress by eating all the wrong foods.

Muscle isn’t just hard to build, but also hard to maintain. Apart from quitting the gym, your age works against your muscle mass regardless of what you do. This is why it’s important to know which foods are capable of destroying muscle and turning it into fat. That said, here are the top 10 anti-muscle foods.

1.    Margarine

If there was ever a food that screamed ‘fat’ all over the place, it would be margarine. Mix that with having absolutely no benefits in terms of muscle, and you’ve got yourself one of the worst foods when it comes to maintaining your muscularity.

Let’s be clear here, butter and margarine are two completely different things. First off, they come from different sources, and more importantly, their nutritional value can’t even be compared. While butter comes from milk and can actually aid in building muscle, margarine simply can’t.

Margarine is basically a cheaper version of butter which has been deprived of any health, weight, and muscle benefits and has been loaded with calories, fat and cholesterol – everything you don’t want in your food, if your goal is maintaining your muscle mass.

2.    Fast Food

Ah, the omnipotent destroyer of muscle, health, hopes, and dreams. Yes, fast food is probably the worst thing you can have on your plate, both in terms of muscles and weight.

The ugly truth about fast foods is that they contain astronomical number of calories. For example, a Burger King Triple Whopper contains a whopping 1,160 calories! If that’s not too much for a single meal, we don’t know what is.

Not only do fast foods bring a truckload of calories to the table, but they also contain immense quantities of fat, salt, and cholesterol. It’s not just a matter of maintaining your muscle, but also of preserving your health.

3.    Corn

We can only imagine how stunned you must be to find out that there is a vegetable on this list. Although it has many great health benefits, corn is not something you should eat if you want to build or keep your muscle mass at a certain level.

You’ll find pasta, bread, and potatoes further on this list and they all share the same anti-muscle property with corn – complex carbohydrates. The human body isn’t capable of doing anything with this compound except turning it into sugar, and you don’t need us to tell you how bad this process is for the muscles.

On top of that, we aren’t actually fit to properly digest corn and its products. That being said, you’ll now begin to understand why soda is so bad for you, especially once you consider that it’s sweetened with a corn-based compound.
